Honestly, when we talk about the English tea rose, there is really no concrete explanation of such thing. Several different explanations and definitions are given, and some defined the English tea rose as being a typical rose and some defined the English tea rose as mainly a type of tea. These explanations about the English tea rose in fact create a level of confusion to most people. But as my Literature teacher once said, "Confusion begets Knowledge", I may rather be confused to gain knowledge.

Well, as what as I have learned, the English tea rose on the first hand is referred as any of several hybrid bush roses which is derived from a tea-scented Chinese rose with the color of pink and yellow flowers.

Historically, the English tea rose is said to have emerged as part of the English tea ceremony and tradition because according to the English folklore of tea, there was once upon a time a lady who was not granted to acquaint unescorted except in her rose garden. It is a common tradition that those who are bounded by social rules of etiquette to speak the roses. So with that, the concept of the English tea rose began to flourish as the popularity of the English tea was widespread in both the public gardens and English tea rooms. From then on, the concept of the English tea rose was applied even into the fashionable women's tea gowns, and remarkably their beautiful bonnets were adorned with floral displays of roses that are usually ornamented in ribbon, silk and natural petals.
So from that concept of the English tea rose, the people then started to include roses for their tea rooms' decorations.

In addition to the mentioned concept of the English tea rose, there is certain information which explained that the English teas are called as English tea rose because some originated in their blossoms the aroma of a fresh sample of the preferred tea. The English tea rose is said to have first introduced by the British into the West in 1810 and 1824, and the French followed hybridizing those English tea roses. Moreover, many enthusiasts considered the English tea rose as the most lovely form and pigmentation in the Rose cosmos. Because of the continuous spreading of the English tea rose, many people took the English tea rose to plant those English tea roses as greenhouse plants, and others tested the English tea rose if those English tea roses will develop by cross-breeding. From that, many English tea roses were produced.

As far as I know, the English tea rose has classifications. One of the most important English tea rose which is commonly associated in the history of tea is the Bourbon. This class of the English tea rose is huge, zippy, and with thick-limbed shrubs. The Bourbon English tea rose is also often perfectly healthy, and with wonderful shiny leaves. The color of this common English tea rose ranges from the English tea rose palette such as red, pink, white, blush, yellow, and oranges, but it is noted that the English tea rose also vary in colors of dawn such as tones of gold, warm pink, and rose shading into each other.

Lastly, for those who are really interested for more details, you better check out some fine books which deal with the English tea rose at a greater length.

I am sure that everyone is familiar with a tea cup. And probably many of you have tried to use an English tea cup without knowing that it is an English tea cup. However, the use of an English tea cup especially in an English tea party or any gathering which include the presence of some English tea cups for the guests and even hosts and hostesses, involved several rules that must be followed.

So for everybody's information, the English tea cup when it is use in a certain gathering involved some English tea cup etiquettes. The English tea cup etiquette involved the proper handling of the English tea cup or the proper using of the English tea cup in general.

One of the noted English tea cup etiquettes, in terms of handling the English tea cup, is that one must remember that the best way to hold an English tea cup is by slipping the index finger to the handle of the English tea cup, up to almost the first knuckle. Then in holding the English tea cup, the balancing and securing of the English tea cup by placing the thumb above the handle of the English tea cup and granting the bottom of the handle to rest on the middle finger. In contrast to the popular belief in holding the English tea cup, it is important to note that the ring and the pinkie fingers must not be drawn out or protracted but should be made rest by curving evenly back toward the wrist.

In addition, it is noted that there are certain theories for handling the English tea cup. Such theories include first the Chinese customary belief of sipping the English tea in small English tea cups with no handle. So with that small English tea cup, there is a tendency of burning the tender and sensitive skin of the pinkie fingers which then result to holding them away form the hot English tea cup. While the other theory in handling the English tea cup is said to have dated back to the middle ages when the aristocrats ate with the use of only three fingers and the lower classes ate with all five fingers. It is noted that at that time protracting one's pinkie finger means arrogance, and was really rather tacky. So with that, it is really important to note that holding the English tea cup in that manner must be eliminated.

For further information, stirring the tea in an English tea cup, the tea must be stirred gently. Do not make noises by clinking against the sides of the English tea cup while stirring. Gently seam the tea to and fro being carefully not to touch the sides of the English tea cup as much as possible. It is also important that in English tea cup etiquette, the act of leaving the spoon in the English tea cup is a bad gesture. After stirring the tea in the English tea cup, the spoon must be placed on the right side of the saucer, behind the handle of the English tea cup. It is necessary that for English tea cup etiquette, never sip the tea from the spoon.

Let us accept that when we hear the word "party" we eventually feel a sort of excitement. We usually associate bigger things to the word, like the usual reaction "Let's party", and we even feel some sort of a heavenly atmosphere. Right?

So as we all know, party refers to a social gathering which is intended primarily for celebration or recreation. In such occasion, we expect some enjoyment and pleasure. However, beyond that simple idea, there are classes of parties that most of the people often enjoy. In this article, I will be discussing mainly on the nature of the Afternoon English tea party.

For your information, the English tea party is actually a social gathering within a formal or stuffy atmosphere. The English tea party has its own classification, like the afternoon English tea party. Typically, the Afternoon English tea party is usually served between 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock and was primarily intended for the aristocratic families with their lifestyle. The Afternoon English tea party is said to be very elegant and fashionable. This for the fact that the Afternoon English tea party is performed with a high demand for elegant tea wares such as silver and fine bona china, trays, cake stands, servers, tea caddies, tea strainers, tea tales, and tea pots.

And as times continue on its pace, the English lifestyle then changed and as such the formal Afternoon English tea party died. However, there was a revival of the Afternoon English tea party in recent years as the English people once again appreciate and enjoy the elegance and fashion of the Afternoon English tea party.

Since tea became the unofficial national drink of England, it is unsurprising to know that many English tea shops are on England's vicinity nowadays. Probably for most people the sights of several English tea shops is just so natural for the fact that they live in a society where teas are so popular that even those who are in the lower classes catered to such beverage.

As a typical tea store, the English tea shop is a place for consumption. As such, the people go to the English tea shops to buy teas or to dine in for some of the celebrated English teas. The English tea shop in particular serves as a place for the people to find some of the varieties of teas including black teas, green teas, oolong, and the other favored classes of the English tea. Most of the English tea shops usually offered some of the favored and the much valued brands of the English teas such as the Darjeeling, P. G. Tips, Earl Grey, Assam, and much more.

It is also interesting to consider that most of the English tea shops not only provide brands and varieties of English tea from other manufacturing firms but some of the English tea shops even catered to producing their own brands of teas for further expansion of power and for the people to have a massive source of their favorite English teas.

However, the English tea shop is not only a store for teas per se because there are certain English tea shops that have English tea rooms for the people to privately acquaint themselves to their friends, families, and relatives. As such, the English tea shops served as a place for gatherings wherein the people can freely talk about the hottest gigs of the day, and other subject matters that can be discussed.

Furthermore, the English tea shops offered products like tea bags, tea utensils, tea accessories, and other services for the people. As a place for teas, the English tea shops also offered some of the available English tea sets for the people to choose and to collect. Such English tea sets that most of the English tea shops provide have its own affixed prices. And most of the English tea shops are concerned on establishing some extensions like the English tea shop bookshop inside the English teas shop, and even some place for the exhibitions of the English tea shop's tea collection.

In addition, most of the English tea shops usually create a certain order to their place. This order is evident through the English tea shops divisions, such as a certain place for the flavored and scented English teas, Ceylon teas, and other varieties and blend. Finally, the English tea shop provide some place for gifts and accessories or what we commonly called as souvenir items, and other essential divisions for the people to have a brighter view of the place. With those related qualities of the English tea shop, the English tea shop indeed revolved around the world of teas.

When we say, "English bone china tea cup" we usually come into some associations that this certain kind of thing just like some of the common tea cups is made from porcelain. However, we actually come into certain consideration that why it is named as English bone china tea cup?

As we all know, a tea cup is a small cup with a handle that may be handled by the use of the thumb and one or two fingers. Typically, the tea cup is made of porcelain that is termed "china" for its origin. Accordingly, the English bone china tea cup was first introduced by Josiah Spode I who has a strong dedication and interest in pottery. Josiah Spode I became well known for his pottery factories that produced wonderful products and that include the English bone china tea cup.

For so many years, Josiah Spode I dedicate his life in pottery making, until he came a bright idea of making the English bone china tea cup. It is noted that at that time, prior to the invention of the English bone china tea cup, Josiah Spode I focused his attention to producing a whiter and stronger ware to match with the massive demand for European porcelains, and through that strong dedication, he arrived at the formula for making the English bone china tea cup in 1797.

It is amazing to know that the introduction of the English bone china tea cup create a huge impact on the pottery industry and consumers. Many pottery manufacturers chose to produce more English bone china tea cup for much greater return. The English bone china tea cup at that time became the most favored china ware not only in England but also in other parts of the world. The greater triumph that the English bone china tea cup achieved was due to the English bone china tea cup's brilliant whiteness, strength, and delicate translucency.

The English bone china tea cup formula, in addition, has basically a percentage of calcium phosphate which is derived from ox bone. There Spode Company's publications claimed that the English bone china tea cup contains in excess of 50% calcium phosphate derived from ox bone while the United Kingdom's legal definition claimed that the English bone china tea cup only contains 30% of calcium phosphate.

The English bone china tea cup is actually considered as hybrid hard-paste porcelain that contains bone ash. It is also noted that the English bone china tea cup formula is composed of six parts of bone ash, four parts of china stone, and three and a half parts of china clay. The English bone china tea cup is also considered as a special variation of china ware with its bone ash from animals that are added to traditional porcelain ingredients. With those compositions, the English bone china tea cup is harder and more creamy-looking than the traditional European china ware.

So for the great quality of the English bone china tea cup, every English fine china producer now catered to the English bone china tea cup formula that Spode originally innovated. And to this day, the English bone china tea cup formula is always found in most of the English porcelains.
